Meats:

If you have ever been blessed to have a freezer full of fresh meat, whether it is fresh beef, pork or chicken and a storm hits and knocks out the power, you hope and pray your freezer doesn’t thaw out right.

Get your chair and your tea and lets learn how you can preserve some of the meat so that it isn’t just sitting in the freezer waiting to be thawed.

What you can do with ground beef:

You can make an abundance of prepared meat and put them in a jar and have quick easy meals. So you can fry it up as just ground beef and heat it up and add seasonings for tacos, meatloaf, burritos, chili, spaghetti or lasagna.

Or you can make up your meatloaf, tacos, burritos, and chili and can it so that it is already a complete meal.

What you can do with chicken:

It can be chicken breasts, or on the bone. But you can cook it and shred the chicken, then put it in a jar and recan it so that you have chicken for Chicken salad, Chicken and dumplings, Chicken and Gravy, Chicken Puffs, Chicken Casserole, Chicken Pot Pie.

What you can do with Pork:

Pork that is ground, can be fried and put into jars just like sausage for burritos, omeletes, breakfast gravy.  Pork loin can be cooked and canned to allow for you to have pork loin that only needs to be heated up to go on a sandwhich, or with gravy over it.  And Bacon. It is possible to can bacon.

Deer Meat:

Deer meat that is ground can be treated just like ground beef. Cubed deer meat can be canned and reheated and pulled into deer bbq sandwhiches or stew.
